Art Dubai is a fascinating outpouring of world culture, expressed through visual art.  Local galleries participate to help host the event, and galleries from all over the world send in work.  In 2009, a key participant in Art Dubai was South and Central Asia, with a focus on new and cutting edge art from Korea.  A mother-daughter team who each have their own galleries, Gallery Sun Contemporary, and Sun Gallery, were among the participants, presenting their own installation and multi-media work.  This is a fascinating new economy, where artists and art curators from around the world can help promote and expose larger audiences to each other’s work, and it will be fascinating to see how it catches on.  But see it first in Dubai.
