Ibiza is a spectacular place with an incredibly rich history. Part of the Baleric Islands, it has been inhabited for centuries. It was already a major trading port at the time of the Greeks, as well as the Romans, and there is a long history of hospitality here. This makes for splendid accommodations in Ibiza. Boutique hotels are famous here, and valued for their particularly unique styles and sensibilities. Boutique hotels are often smaller than the chain hotels, and offer individual touches that make them distinctive, and a perfect choice for the discerning traveler. There is a lot to see and do here, and you may enjoy looking at the historical places, finding the connections between then and now, and enjoy the utter bewilderment at all the different civilizations that have passed through here over time’s long march.
Travelers here probably know about Ibiza’s position in the world as one of the best places to go to nightclubs and enjoy parties that go on all night long. By all night, Ibiza is very serious about all night. Oftentimes, the party doesn’t swing into full gear until well after midnight, and the spectacle and the dancing can go on until the sun comes up. You’ll find a fantastic party wherever DJ Jo Mills is playing. This hot performer spends her time living all over the world with her busy and exciting schedule, but seems to be spending most of her time between here and London.
With good reason, too. She honed her skills playing London Clubs in the early 90s, and fell into DJing unintentionally. Working alongside some of the hottest spinners, she began to catch a taste for the art, and was a very fast-rising star. By 2001 she was playing the best clubs all over the world, and making a big name for herself. She still plays out, with an amazingly hectic schedule, and she seems to thrive on the energy and the chaos. Jo Mills has also been putting in a considerable amount of time in the studio, making brilliant recordings of her work that still show a fearless and wonderful spontaneity, and demonstrate why Ibiza is lucky to have her as a true friend.
There is not really another one like it in the world. Singapore businesses have long been known and respected for their efficiency, their professionalism and their customer service, and the the Changi Airport is no exception. The airport is known for their schedules running on time, one of the best systems of check in and baggage delivery, and more than anything else they are known for the quality of their customer service. Located in one of the most modern buildings today, one will find everything they need as far as relaxing restaurants and gardens.
Entertainment and shopping the airport has much more going on the just arrivals and departures. Whether one is waiting for a connecting flight or booking a charter jet, the wait will be of no consequence when at this airport the airport is its own small city. Should one be feeling a bit of traveling stress, there are many licensed massage therapists and day spas to relieve that, and many of the services provided by them are offered twenty-four hours a day.
Also available everyday, all day long and throughout the entire night are four different movie cinemas that are offered free of charge to any passengers holding tickets. There are chapels for those of all religious persuasions as well as playgrounds and video game rooms for the children. Back to the gardens…the Changi Airport has more gardens located within the facilities than most small cities. There are six different gardens in all, including a Butterfly garden that is filled with flowers, and yes, butterflies.
All of the gardens are as well, open to the public twenty four hours a day, and are offered free of charge for all of those passengers traveling through the city. The airport is always on the top of the lists regarding passenger satisfaction, and many of the amenities are not only doing as they are intended, which is to provide relief from the long hours of travelers, but they have been noticing that more and more, people have been scheduling their connecting flights in order to give more time to spend in this incredible place. Amazing.
Since I was a kid I love to watch the Indianapolis 500 on TV every May. The cars racing around the track, the anticipation of a potential crash, the power and the noise. it was all very exciting to me as a kid. Well the excitement has hardly worn off in my adulthood. Dreaming and wanting to go to the race in person has been a life long desire. Well now this coming Memorial Day we are heading to Indianapolis, IN. We are going to the Indianapolis 500 races. After years of wanting to go and much time spent thinking about it we are finally going to be going! Having just obtained the tickets to the race we are now going to book out Indianapolis luxury Hotels room. With wanting to go for so long and finally getting the opportunity to go, we are going first class all the way.
Since we are in Colorado we thought it would be really cool to rent a van and all of us would drive up and meet in Denver. From Denver we will head out to Indianapolis. Being that the drive is a little more than one thousand miles we should be able to make it with a full day of driving. Being that we will switch drivers off and on we should be able to make it one very long drive. Not really wanting to stop over night on the way I think this will be the best to just keep on the road and get ourselves there.
This is going to be one heck of a party, six guys in a van for twenty four hours driving half way across the country. We are staying in suite all together and going to the races. It should and will be so much fun. I now can not wait for May to get here.
It’s a fantastic feeling when you can drive home from work, thinking about the hot tub waiting for you when you get back to your house. They have a way of taking away the stress of the day, so you can begin to focus on the important things in life. Everyone deserves a moment’s rest in a busy day, and portable hot tubs are like a big Do Not Disturb sign on your own private getaway. They have a power to transport you away from the unpleasant things, and to remind you that this moment before you is the most important thing you have.
Water as an element has the power to remind us of elemental things, and it’s almost strange sometimes how the hot water and the jets combined have a way of taking away the minor stresses of the day so that the essential things remain. One of the truly wonderful things about hot tubs is that they don’t just help calm the heart when you are relaxing in solitude, but they can work their magic in groups as well. It’s part of the physical benefits of the portable spa. When the body is in the water, circulation improves, blood pressure can go down, and certainly the tense muscles start to give way to a splendid relaxation.
This works whether you’re conscious of it or not, so it doesn’t always matter if you’re meditating on a lotus blossom, or talking to your neighbor about baseball, you’ll still get the benefits. And you’ll feel them increase the more you use your spa, and your body and your mind start to develop stronger reflexes for relaxation. It’s never too late to learn how to focus on the moment, and it’s a wonderful way to deepen friendships, and sometimes both of those things can come hand in hand.
One of the most common attractions almost all travelers who visit India make it a point to see are the numerous temples that are featured across the country. Some of these date back centuries and they also display incredible architectural designs and strong engineering practices. Guests staying in a five star hotel India may be entirely interested in the chutney and curry dishes the enjoy in the restaurants, though they absolutely become captivated by the beauty and grandeur of some of these ancient temples.
The Thousand Pillar temple in Warangal is utterly breathtaking in its beauty and design. This south Indian temple dates back middle of the 12th century and is particularly noted for its incredible sculptures. Its amazingly rich detailed screens and of course the pillars are also some of its best known features. The temple was dedicated to the Lords Vishnu, Shiva and Surya. While they are in Warangal, guests should also visit the Jain Mandir, which is an ancient Jain temple. They should also see the Sammakka Saralamma Temple, which was a traditional pilgrimage destination and was dedicated to the goddesses Sammakka and Saralamma.
Kerala is another southern Indian state that has some incredible temples. The Sabarimala Temple is the primary celebration center for the festivals of Makharam and Sabarimala. There is also an interesting mythological story attached to the creation of the temple. It is commonly told that Parasurama Maharshi, who is believed to have lifted Kerala from the sea, installed in the temple an idol of Ayyappa for the worship of Lord Ayyappa. This temple is located in the city of Pathanamthitta. The Mannarshala Temple in Alappuzha, Kerala is an ancient temple that dates back centuries and rests in part on the water. Wherever tourists visit, there are guaranteed to be plenty of historic landmarks and icons to attract them and enrich their vacation.
We headed out to Glasshouse Mountains, it was our first full day in Australia and we wanted to make the most of it. Captain Cook named the mountains, because they kind of look like glass furnaces. When we reached Glasshouse Mountains it became very foggy, so we were unable to thoroughly enjoy their beauty. We decided then to continue on to Montville Village, which was one of our family’s favorite places to visit when on holiday. The town seems like a small English village and it has spectacular views of the mountainous country side. We really like the souvenir shops. After an early lunch we caught a bus to the Australia Zoo. It was the home of Steve Erwin, the famous Crocodile Hunter. Even though, he’s no longer there, we had a great time attending the crocodile show. Seeing the native Australian animals, like the koalas, cassowaries, wombats, Tasmanian devils and a tortoise that was 175 years old! This tortoise was the tortoise that belonged to Charles Darwin.
After that, we went to Rainbow beach and spent the next two nights there. The following morning, was at the beach. We all had a ton of fun swimming, building sand castles and just plain old relaxing. Later, we climbed up to the top of the Rainbow Mountain and watched hang-gliders launch. We we amazed at the enormity of the sand dunes. As we watched the hang-gliders the sun was setting in the west and a beautiful double rainbow appeared in the east over the ocean. We really couldn’t have asked for more, the double rainbow at Rainbow Mountain! We decided to head back to Brisbane and check into one of the Brisbane boutique hotels we can then be pampered. The first part of our holiday was for our children, but now, heading to Brisbane is for the adults.

Hotels in the Balearic islands are known for their splendid sense of hospitality, offering a heady combination of local charm and old-world graciousness. It’s a fantastic accompaniment to any stay on an island in Spain, and Menorca is a fantastic place to get away from it all, and indulge in the local flavor. Rich and exotic, and with a dizzying history, along with a fairly stunning prehistory, Menorca has an appeal that goes beyond just the desire for luxury. However, luxury is in large supply here, and you can certainly find tastes of it at our hotels. Menorca is a gorgeous place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the daily grind, and come back to your senses in elegant Spanish style.
Spain is a place where style is never taken for granted. It’s one of the more fascinating aspects of the place, and it doesn’t take long before that infectious eye for fine detail starts to work its way into your own sensibility. You’ll certainly be enjoying a stylish kind of luxury here, with rich nights and heavenly days that speak to a primal need to be closer to water. Water is related to the unconscious in most psychological constructions of the human personality, at least as far as Western Freudian theory goes. There are some schools of Jungian thought that consider water in a similar manner, to be one of the primary archetypes of the collective unconscious.
The notion of the collective unconscious, although it’s certainly very useful in looking at some basic ideas of what lies just below the surface of all things, has been a bit problematic in recent years. Some critics of strict Jungian analysis see the idea of a collective unconscious as another subtle attempt to colonize people, and this time through the mind itself. They hold that, although it may be true that some of the central metaphors in cultural histories, such as a flood story, the image of the great mother, and the moon as always a female presence, repeat themselves over time and place, that there is more complexity than a strict Jungian reading would suggest. It’s one way of looking at water, revealing it to be much more infinitely deep than one could even imagine. There is a Yoruba proverb that says that no one really knows what lies at the bottom of the sea, although a vacation in Menorga might be a good start at learning.
Excellent Customer Service Skills are easy to recognize by consumers when they occur, yet when removed from the actual context, there can be great debates over what actually constitutes great service. For businessmen such as Steve Barbarich the most important aspect of great customer service is the attention and respect given to all customers and a concern for their complete satisfaction with the service and or the product. The following provides two examples of service that was actually received by the same individual. Both occasions took place at arts and crafts stores that were approximately equal distances from the consumer’s house. The only difference in locations was that the store in the first example was about a quarter of a mile closer and the drive was much prettier.
At the first store, the consumer was looking for a piece of cord to tie together two decorative hanging plant holders. She approached a salesman she found who was heading in her direction. He was moving quickly and would have ignored her completely unless she interrupted him, which she did. He stopped and looked at her with an expression that announced how busy he felt and he didn’t say anything. She asked him where she could find the cord and quickly stated that any cord they had would be on isle three. Then he rushed right back to his previous project.
The second situation occurred at the slightly further store. This time the consumer was looking for some seasonal decorations and specifically wanted some floral designs. She found the section herself and stood looking for her desired product. A saleswoman walked by and said hello to her. She then asked if she was finding everything okay. The consumer asked her if they carried a particular floral design. The saleswoman stated she did not think they had that particular one, but suggested they go together to look at what they did have. After a friendly conversation about possibilities, the consumer decided on a pattern that she believed would go very well with her other decorations, and she was actually pleased with the slight change in plans. It should be obvious to all readers that this consumer will make her future purchases at the store that is a slightly further and less pleasant drive.
Losing my job a couple months ago has added a lot of stress to my life. Though I do have enough in savings, it won’t last forever, and maxing out my credit cards on just the necessities of life does not appeal to me. That being said, I feel like my skill sets could use a little updating, and perhaps for this reason, I have been having a difficult time finding a job. I’m older too, which doesn’t always help: just because you’re older doesn’t mean you’re wiser. Yet corporate team building is expensive, and while I do have a friend who could help me out with the expense (she has an in with the people holding the seminar), I’m still weighing my options. Perhaps this is one of those things that will pay off in the long run. It’s just hard to that right now when the economy is giving me tunnel vision.
My friend is actually quite an inspiration to me. She’s literally built herself up from prison time and drug abuse. She likes to quote a favorite actor of hers, Charles S. Dutton, or rather do a takeoff on a quote of his. He often says he went from jail to Yale, but she went from jail to Harvard. She did offer to get me some sales management training for free, but I couldn’t do that to her. Sometimes she’s too generous for her own good, even though she does have the cash to spare. I guess I still have too much of pride left. I have a hard time accepting charity from other people even when I need most.
I do enjoy sales, but having her pay for a 2 grand seminar seems ridiculous. She’s been threatening to give it to me as a birthday present, or rather to make it for my next five birthdays, but I know she’ll give presents still despite anything she says in addition to the training deal she had for me. Hopefully when I get back on my feet, I can be just as much of inspiration to others as she is to me.
Two cases of political corruption involve the countries of South Africa and Costa Rica. The first involved a scam surrounding arms deals, and the second a case that involved bribery and the corrupt finance of political figures. The man under investigation in South Africa about six years ago was then the deputy president. Now he is the president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma. During that time he was investigated for the solicitation of a bribe. He alleged approached the then head of the branch of the South African Arms corporation, Thomson. This was to be in exchange for his protection of that company from governmental investigation.
The judicial system and the prosecutor, Bulelani Ngcuka dropped the case in August of 2003, stating that there was strong evidence, they–the government could not be certain that they would be able to win the case. One businessman who was closely connected to Zuma at the time, Schabir Shaikh, was investigated as well. And through his investigation it was made apparent just what Zuma had gained through monetary means and benefits that he had received.
Another case of political corruption involved the president of Costa Rica. In 2004 Miguel Angel Rodriquez resigned his position of the Secretary General of a group known as the Organization of American States. He was accused of bribery scams that involved the telecommunications company from France, Alcatel. This was a cell phone company that had been given a contract that set to improve the Costa Rican cell phone systems.
It was alleged that the company bribed Rodriquez’s former electric company manager, of Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad, Jose Antonio Lobo, in order to be awarded the contract. The amount of the bribe was said to be just under two and half million American dollars. Lobe claimed that Rodriguez advised him to accept the bribe. Rodriguez then demanded sixty percent of that amount. Cases such as these are constantly being investigated, in an attempt to take corruption out of the political arena, for the good of the country these leaders are running, and for the good of all countries throughout the world.
My 3rd day in Palma de Mallorca and I’m enjoying being back on the island, back in my room at the luxury hotel Palma. David and his girlfriend Ann picked me up at the airport Sunday afternoon. I’ve been living it up ever since. Monday, I worked out at the athletics club where David work, and I’m still a little bit sore from over doing it, but I want to make sure I look good in my bathing suit. I hung out with his friends, Noel and Nick. We had dinner at their flat and then went to this fantastic bar.
The next morning, which was Nick’s birthday, I met up with his mom and her boyfriend from France. We went snorkeling at Cala Conill. Wow, indescribably amazing, beautiful. I had forgotten just how constant the clicking noise of the fish cracking shells sounded and just how clear the water is. I saw so many fish and what was even better, I got to use an aqua scooter. It’s one of those torpedo things with a propeller attached and it pulls you around under the water, really cool.
Afterwards, I hung out at the pool while David taught swimming to a bunch of local kids. We came back for dinner and met up with some of his other buddies. We all went out to a local bar and began to speak in Spanish, then Mallorquin and I felt like I was in the most challenging oral exam, but it was great, because I love the language and I’ve been learning Mallorquin myself. I’m just not that proficient at it yet.
Today, I have a very busy day planned out. I’m planning on chillaxing with David’s buddies at the public pool here in Santa Maria, that’s where David lives. Then tonight, I’m going to meet up with some new friends I met while snorkeling, Joe and Juan, for dinner in Palma. Tomorrow, I’ll have lunch with another Juan, an old professor of mine and the director of the Vanderbilt program here and we’ll have dinner over at his home where he’ll be cooking my favorite dish, broiled halibut with shallots, shrimp, peppers in a white wine sauce. Yum!
I’m really enjoying my stay so far in Palma. It’s been really fun to be with old friends and making new old friends.
