National Museum in Amsterdam

Carl took his brother Bob with him on a business trip he took to Amsterdam last month. He knew Bob would go because he would be interested in some of the more famous and standard elements that the city is known for. And whenever Carl went on a trip outside of the country for work he preferred to take someone along to try and make a bit of a vacation out of it. Bob was impressed with the accommodations provided by the best Amsterdam hotel where they stayed and was extremely eager to get out and tour the town.
However, as Carl spent his days in his work meetings Bob began to explore this incredible city. And much to his surprise what he found to be most interesting was not the elements he had anticipated. He discovered that Amsterdam was actually an incredible city with an amazing history and culture. He was happy to report this to Carl when he retuned to the hotel after a major presentation. His excitement about the beauty of the Royal Palace led Carl to believe that Bob had partaken in some of Amsterdam’s typical tourist customs.
However, his brother’s skepticism, which was about Bob’s activities not the cultural dynamics of the city which Carl was well aware, did not deter Bob from heading back out the next morning to explore the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. The building in which it existed was inspiring enough though Bob was interested in exploring the collection of paintings from the Dutch Golden Age of this national museum. He was awed as he stood in front of Rembrandt’s The Night Watch and could not believe the power of these great works when standing directly in front of them.
